Hay Roll-Ups - Landscape Oil Painting

Julia paints what she loves. Although many artists have painted bales or rolls of hay, Julia has approached this subject with her unusual artist's eye. In order to convey their huge size, she has painted a huge canvas, and through use of perspective has given us a view that is unique. The large roll of hay in the foreground overwhelms the smaller ones in the background, and pulls our eye into the painting. Lively, impressionistic brush-strokes contrast with use of palette-knife bring out the beauty in this majestic farm scene. Hints of the blue sky are reflected in the hay.
