Inspired by the fresh flowers and fruit she had just purchased at Central Market near her gallery in Lancaster, Julia has created a composition that is astonishingly beautiful! Dramatic use of her palette-knife bring the petals of the flowers to life on the canvas, and contrasts with the smooth green apples. The muted thalo green tones are repeated in the reflections on the thick glass vase, and the complementary warm yellow background achieves a mix of realism and impressionism that is unique to Julia’s recent artwork.
