This oil painting takes its inspiration from a more recent photo of the artist’s daughter Amber’s friends who were dressed in 1930’s garb to attend the birthday party of their grandmother! Julia has painted them in the style of the bygone era using the sepia tones contrasted against stark white, but she has also captured the eternal vibrance of their youth.
